We returned a record \u00a32.8 billion in value to our members and recorded our highest ever year for growth in mortgage lending and retail deposit balances, and we remain first for customer service.&#8217;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When will the Nationwide bonus be paid out?<\/h2>\n<p>Alongside its annual results, the building society shared that its Fairer Share Bonus will be running for the third year in a row, taking the total amount paid through the scheme to more than \u00a31 billion.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"431\" src=\"https:\/\/pharosstory.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/GettyImages-2187070510.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-22535591\" alt=\"Banking And Payments Illustrations\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\t<\/div><figcaption>Exact dates should be revealed in May (Picture: Jaque Silva\/NurPhoto via Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>For 2025, Each member will receive \u00a3100, which will be automatically deposited into your Nationwide current account <strong>between June 18 and July 4<\/strong>, appearing on your current statement as &#8216;Nationwide Fairer Share Payment&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>And as with previous payouts, you shouldn&#8217;t need to make a claim or request the money yourself.<\/p>\n<p>If you think you qualify but haven&#8217;t heard anything from Nationwide by July 5, get in touch. And don&#8217;t forget to stay aware of fraudulent attempts at obtaining your personal information to apply for the payment.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who is eligible for the Nationwide bonus?<\/h2>\n<p>To be in the running, <strong>customers must hold both a qualifying current account <em>as well as<\/em> a qualifying savings or <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/11\/22\/can-now-get-a-300-000-mortgage-a-50-000-household-income-22045212\/\">mortgage account<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Each of the bank&#8217;s current accounts (excluding its subsidiaries, such as Clydesdale Bank, Virgin Money or Yorkshire Bank) are eligible, providing certain criteria are met.<\/p>\n<p>The first of these is that the account was open on March 31, 2025 \u2014 although those who <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/10\/14\/four-banks-offer-money-switch-accounts-21779917\/\">switched accounts<\/a> between January 1 and March 31 are exempt from any additional requirements.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"431\" src=\"https:\/\/pharosstory.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/SEI_232946213-aa10.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-22173556\" alt=\"Nationwide Building society on 30th March 2024 in Stroud, United Kingdom. (photo by Mike Kemp\/In Pictures via Getty Images)\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\t<\/div><figcaption>Over 4 million customers are eligible (Picture: In Pictures via Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Otherwise, Nationwide explains that FlexAccount, FlexDirect or FlexBasic holders must have either:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Received \u00a3500 in two of the three months of January, February and March 2025, and made two payments from their account<\/li>\n<li><em>Or<\/em>, completed at least 10 payments out of the account in two of the three months of January, February and March 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The company adds: &#8216;These are two separate requirements which cannot be combined. For example, if you only paid in \u00a3500 and made two payments out in February 2025 and made 10 payments out in March 2025, you will not have met these additional requirements.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, FlexPlus account holders must have paid their monthly fee, and FlexOne, FlexStudent or FlexGraduate customers need to have made at least one payment in or out during March 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Those with investment accounts and stocks and shares weren&#8217;t included in the criteria, but savings account holders qualify if they had a minimum of \u00a3100 in total across Nationwide personal savings accounts or cash ISAs at the end of any day in March.<\/p>\n<p>When it comes to mortgages, customers must have owed at least \u00a3100 on their residential mortgage with Nationwide on March 31.<\/p>\n<p>Home loans through subsidiaries such as The Mortgage Works, UCB Home Loans Corporation Limited, or Derbyshire Home Loans Limited are excluded from the bonus, as are commercial mortgages and those not completed by March 31.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re not sure whether you fit the bill, you can use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationwide.co.uk\/about-us\/fairer-share\/check\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nationwide&#8217;s eligibility checker<\/a> to work it out. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Do you have a story to share?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Get in touch by emailing <a href=\"mailto:MetroLifestyleTeam@Metro.co.uk\">MetroLifestyleTeam@Metro.co.uk<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The mutual institution shares profits with members rather than shareholders (Picture: In Pictures via Getty Images) Listen to article Listen to article Your browser does not support the audio element.
